About Me
I don’t really have a huge childhood connection with art, but I enjoy making it so here I am. I found myself creating nature based pieces and experimented with my work this while taking AP Art.
I am glad because I found my art “calling” so to say and discovered what I really enjoy doing. Fiber arts is a type of art where you work with fabrics and other materials like silk and muslin. I first did a silk painting of some flowers and enjoyed the process, so I did a few more and then moved to batiking. Batiking is a wax painting with cold water dye which kinda works backwards with values and the process takes a while, but it is really fun and apparently I’m good at it. Therefore, I chose to do batiking for my concentration.
For the most part, I create art for myself and to express my own feelings. But if someone can look at my pieces and feel something special, then that’s cool. I don’t think I will move on in life focusing purely on art, but it will definitely still be a hobby.
